The 5550 PRO was built specifically for trucking professionals, with features like a State Mileage Log feature that monitors miles driven within a state for IFTA reporting, or an Hours-of-Service timer that makes it easier than ever for drivers to track their On-Duty, Off-Duty, and Driving Time. The device also uses truck- specific map data, to provide truck-optimized route guidance based on the type of truck traveling.

The system has features for 12 different types of trucks, including straight trucks as well as single and double trailers in various axle configurations. The unit also notes 30 restriction types when planning a route, and can provide multi- point routing to optimize fuel efficiency, as well as avoiding Tolls and/or freeways.
